Are you passionate about making a difference in a child’s life? Do you have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing and inclusive primary school community.
About the Role:
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific pupil, providing tailored support to help them access the curriculum and thrive in the school environment. You will collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement individual learning plans and strategies.
Location: Burnley
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Start Date: January 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with identified SEN needs
- Assist with learning activities, both in and outside the classroom
- Support emotional regulation and social interaction
- Help implement EHCP targets and monitor progress
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children with SEN (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech & language difficulties)
- Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Can work effectively as part of a team
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) – desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
