Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £92.63–£100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Temporary to Permanent
About the Role: We are seeking dedicated and resilient SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) Teaching Assistants to support schools in Milton Keynes. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may face behavioural, emotional, or mental health challenges, helping them to engage positively with their education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support students in managing behaviour and emotions effectively
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and record student progress and behaviour
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional needs (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, patient, and resilient nature
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Team Teach – desirable but not essential)
- Able to travel or have access to a vehicle- travel is a requirement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
