SEMH Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Personnel are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Hounslow seeking an SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis.
This role involves supporting pupils who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties, helping them engage with learning, build confidence and develop positive relationships within school.
No two days are the same. You'll work closely with pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
About the Role
You will:
- Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Help pupils regulate emotions and manage behaviour positively
- Encourage engagement with classroom activities
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Work alongside teaching staff, SENCOs and pastoral teams
- Promote independence, confidence and resilience
Experience With Any Of The Following Is Beneficial
- SEMH
- Autism (ASD)
- ADHD
- Anxiety
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Behaviour that challenges
- Additional learning needs

Previous experience working with children or young people is essential. Experience within an SEN or SEMH setting would be highly advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
