SEMH Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

About the Role
We are seeking full-time SEMH Teaching Assistants to support students in a specialist setting in Guildford. You will work with young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them engage with education, build resilience, and develop positive behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

Support students with SEMH needs in and out of the classroom

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

Assist with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies

Encourage engagement in learning and personal development

Provide consistent pastoral support

Work closely with teachers and support staff to meet individual needs
About You
-
Experience working with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or in care/youth work settings is highly desirable

Patient, resilient, and emotionally intelligent
-
Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Must be a driver with access to a vehicle (essential due to location)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
