SEMH Teaching Assistant

Experienced Teaching Assistant Required

We are currently seeking experienced Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Blandford Forum, supporting pupils aged 5–16 with EHCPs and social, emotional and mental health needs.

The school also provides alternative provision for pupils requiring a more tailored and nurturing educational environment.

This role would suit someone who:

• Has previous experience working within SEMH, SEN or alternative provision
• Is confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
• Can build strong, positive relationships with young people
• Is resilient, patient and proactive

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Assisting with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
• Encouraging engagement in learning and classroom activities
• Working closely with teaching and pastoral teams

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
