SEMH Teacher – Southampton (Start: September 2025)

Start Date: September 2025
Position: Full-Time, Permanent
Key Stages: (KS2 / KS3 / KS4 – specify depending on role)
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
You will be teaching small groups of students with SEMH needs, using creative and tailored approaches to engage and inspire. Working alongside a dedicated pastoral and therapeutic team, your role will be central to helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve both academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum adapted to individual needs

Create a nurturing, structured, and positive learning environment

Manage challenging behaviour using trauma-informed and restorative approaches

Collaborate with support staff, parents, and external professionals

Contribute to EHCP reviews and personalised learning plans
About You:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
-
Experience working with students with SEMH or in an alternative provision setting

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills

A proactive, flexible, and compassionate approach

A genuine commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
