Role: SEMH Teacher (QTS Essential)
Location: Stoke-on-Trent (Independent SEMH School – Multi-Site)
Pay: £30,000 - £50,000 per year - Permanent salary dependent on experience
Contract: Temporary to Permanent / Permanent Opportunities Available
Start Date: ASAP

Make a Real Difference in a Specialist SEMH Setting

Teaching Personnel are working alongside an independent SEMH specialist school in Stoke-on-Trent who are looking to appoint a resilient and adaptable Qualified Teacher to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The school are ideally looking to recruit permanently for the right person, however they are also open to experienced teachers initially working on a temporary basis before transitioning into a permanent role.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work in a highly supportive environment with smaller class sizes, strong staffing ratios, and a real focus on relationship building, emotional regulation and personalised learning.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across KS2–KS4

  • Create a structured and supportive classroom environment

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour

  • Build positive and consistent relationships with learners

  • Monitor both academic and pastoral progress

  • Work collaboratively with support staff and wider school teams

  • Contribute positively to behaviour routines and school culture

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND or challenging behaviour desirable

  • Strong behaviour management and resilience

  • Calm, flexible and adaptable approach

  • Passion for supporting vulnerable young people

  • Ability to build trust, consistency and positive routines
