Position: SEMH Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Type: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for a permanent role)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Develop and implement creative strategies to engage and inspire students.
  • Work closely with support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
  • Provide pastoral care and support to help students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the holistic development of each student.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a nurturing learning environment.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
