A specialist provision is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary SEMH Teacher to join its expanding team. The setting supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and is committed to providing a stable, nurturing environment where children thrive both emotionally and academically.
The provision is currently undergoing significant investment, including the addition of new classrooms, sensory integration rooms, specialist learning spaces, and improved outdoor facilities—enhancing accessibility and creating a calm, therapeutic environment tailored to pupil needs. Staff at the setting pride themselves on delivering life-changing experiences for pupils and are known for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will:
- Teach small groups of KS2 pupils within a nurturing SEMH environment.
- Implement trauma‑informed, relationship‑based approaches to support behavioural and emotional regulation.
- Develop trusted relationships that foster security, resilience, and positive engagement in learning.
- Work collaboratively with a skilled multidisciplinary team, including pastoral specialists and family support staff.
- Contribute to personalised plans and assessment processes aligned with SEMH best practice and national guidance.

Candidate Requirements
The provision is looking for:
- A qualified teacher (ECTs welcome) with a passion for inclusive and nurturing practice.
- An individual who remains calm, patient, creative, and adaptable when supporting challenging behaviour.
- Someone who understands that behaviour is a form of communication and values a holistic, relational approach.
- Experience with SEMH pupils is advantageous, though not essential where the right ethos and commitment are present.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
