Job description

SEMH Teacher (QTS) – Immediate Opportunities
King's Lynn, Norfolk
Competitive Daily Rate (Dependent on Experience)
Supply (Flexible Opportunities)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated SEMH Teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to work within schools across King's Lynn. We welcome applications from both Primary and Secondary specialists who are passionate about supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role is ideal for experienced teachers who can create a positive, structured learning environment, build strong relationships with pupils, and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs. As part of our supply team, you will have the flexibility to work across a variety of educational settings while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and positive classroom environment
  • Manage behaviour effectively using positive behaviour strategies
  • Differentiate learning to meet individual pupil needs
  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and wider school staff
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide regular feedback
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, confidence, and resilience

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching pupils with SEMH or additional needs
  • Be calm, patient, and resilient
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills
  • Be adaptable and able to build positive relationships quickly
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

Experience

  • QTS is essential
  • Previous experience working within SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision is highly desirable
  • We are seeking experienced teachers (ECTs will not be considered for this role)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
