SEMH Teacher – Secondary School | Bury | Full-Time | September Start (ASAP Available)
Are you a passionate teacher looking to make a real difference in young people’s lives? We are recruiting for a dedicated SEMH Teacher to join a specialist secondary school in Bury, starting in September with the option to begin sooner.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many pupils have faced barriers to education and the school focuses on rebuilding confidence, improving engagement and supporting long-term success.
About the School
You will be joining a supportive and experienced team in a structured, nurturing environment. Staff work collaboratively to provide consistency and positive outcomes for pupils.
Smaller class sizes allow for personalised learning and strong relationships. The leadership team is approachable and committed to staff development.

The Role
You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to secondary pupils, supporting both academic progress and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons
- Support students with SEMH and challenging behaviour
- Build positive relationships with pupils
- Use behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
- Implement EHCP targets and support plans
- Work closely with support staff
- Monitor pupil progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
