SEMH Behaviour Support Workers – Primary & Secondary Specialist Settings
We are recruiting dedicated and resilient SEMH Behaviour Support Workers to join specialist primary and secondary SEMH provisions in Guildford. These settings support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who require structured, therapeutic, and consistent support to succeed in education.
This is a highly rewarding role for individuals who are passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
The Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural and emotional support
-
Support pupils with SEMH, trauma-related needs, ADHD, ASD, and challenging behaviours
-
Implement behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies
-
Build positive, trusting relationships with students
-
Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and engagement in learning
-
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
We Are Looking For:
-
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (school, youth work, care, or similar background)
-
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
-
Confidence supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour
-
A team player with excellent communication skills
-
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people

Teaching Assistant experience

Psychology or Criminology graduates

Sports coaching or mentoring

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
