Secondary Teaching Assistant

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking motivated and dependable Secondary Teaching Assistants to support a range of secondary/secondary SEN schools. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and want to help students succeed in a supportive classroom environment.
Working alongside teachers and school staff, you will provide classroom support across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students stay engaged with their learning and develop confidence in their studies.
Main Duties

Provide in-class support to teachers during lessons.

Assist students with classwork, ensuring they understand tasks and remain engaged.

Work with small groups or individual students who may need additional guidance.

Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND where required.

Help maintain a focused and positive learning environment.

Assist with preparing learning materials and classroom resources.
-
Encourage students’ confidence, independence, and participation in lessons.
What We Are Looking For
-
Experience working with young people (in schools, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or youth work).

A calm, supportive, and professional approach when working with students.
-
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
-
Ability to adapt to different school environments and classroom needs.
-
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Skills and Experience
-
Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) or similar.
-
Experience supporting secondary school students.
-
Knowledge of the UK secondary curriculum.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
