Job description

 Teaching Personnel are working with a well-established and thriving secondary school based in Wigan who are seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the academic growth and development of students while working in a supportive and dynamic environment.

About the role:

  • Start-date: 1st September
  • Ongoing/long-term
  • Opportunity to earn £30,000 to £40,000 (dependent on experience/payscale)

As a Secondary English Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a range of English classes across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will have the opportunity to inspire and engage students with a love for literature, language, and creative writing. The role will also involve planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching qualification (PGCE/QTS)
  • A degree in English or related field
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level (can include PGCE placements)
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management
  • A passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of language and literature
