Secondary English Teacher – Specialist Education Setting

Location: Eastleigh
Start Date: 9th October
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 4:15pm
Contract: Short-term cover

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Secondary English Teacher to join a specialist education setting in Eastleigh on a short-term cover placement.

The Role

You will be teaching pupils aged 11–16 within a specialist setting, supporting students with a range of SEND, including:

  • Autism

  • Learning difficulties

  • Mental health needs

  • Behavioural needs

The majority of lessons will already be planned for you, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging and accessible lessons. You will be expected to make small adaptations where appropriate to meet individual student needs and respond to assessment information.

Marking is kept manageable and is primarily completed alongside students during lessons, allowing you to provide immediate feedback and support their progress.

About You

We are looking for a teacher who is:

  • Qualified to teach English at secondary level

  • Enthusiastic, patient and adaptable

  • Confident managing a classroom and responding to different learning needs

  • Experienced in, or keen to develop experience of, working with pupils with SEND

  • Comfortable adapting teaching approaches to meet individual needs

Previous experience working in a specialist education or SEND setting is desirable, but a positive attitude, flexibility and commitment to supporting pupils are equally important.
