Job Title: School Cook

Start Date: 02/11/2020

Hours: 30 Hours Per Week

Pay: GBP10 Per Hour

 

The Role

This role will involve preparing and cooking school meals for around 30 - 40 students and 20 staff. You will also be required to maintain a clean and stocked kitchen and provide various meals and menu choices. There is also a requirement to support students preparing meals as part of their learning and development.

Our ideal candidate will…

  • Have strong time management skills and be able to quickly and efficiently problem solve.
  • Be aware of Safeguarding Procedures when working within schools or be happy to learn.
  • Have experience and the ability to prepare and cook food to high standard for large numbers of people.
  • Be able to work well under pressure.
  • Be aware of different food allergies and dietary needs and be able to cook food with this in mind.

Responsibilities within the role…

  • Plan menus and deliver food at set times.
  • Support students at the school to prepare meals.
  • Record stock levels and ensure these are within budget limits.
  • Ensure all Food Hygiene and Health and Safety Regulations are always followed.
  • Record checks of kitchen equipment in line with relevant procedures.
  • Keep the kitchen and storage areas always secure.
  • Act as a stable and responsible adult for all learners at the school and support them throughout their time within the provision.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
