You will work with pupils with a range of additional needs (e.g. autism, speech and language needs, SEMH), supporting access to a broad, ambitious curriculum and facilitating integration into mainstream learning where appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with class teachers to promote inclusive practice and integration
  • Lead and manage support staff
  • Monitor progress and adapt provision using evidence-based approaches
  • Liaise with families, the SENCO, and external professionals
  • Contribute to the school’s Inclusion Strategy and SEND development

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • QTS and experience supporting SEND in a primary setting
  • Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching
  • Up-to-date knowledge of SEND White Paper reforms, including:
    • Earlier and more consistent mainstream support
    • Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP's)
    • A tiered model (universal, targeted, targeted-plus, specialist)
    • School-led inclusion and local system collaboration
  • Ability to translate policy into effective practice
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
  • A flexible, reflective, child-centred approach

We Offer:

  • A welcoming, inclusive school community
