Role: SEND Residential Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: £95–£105 per day
Start Date: ASAP 
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am–3:45pm

The Role:

As a SEND Residential Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support children and young people with SEND within an educational and residential environment
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapting your approach to individual needs
• Support pupils with communication, emotional wellbeing, behaviour regulation, and social development
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive relationships
• Assist with the implementation of EHCPs, individual support plans, and behaviour plans
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and provide consistent support
• Work closely with teachers, residential staff, therapists, SENCo, and other professionals
• Support pupils with daily routines and develop their life skills and independence
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment

We’re Looking For:

• Previous SEND, residential, care, education, or support work experience (desirable but not essential)
• Transferable experience such as care work, youth work, psychology, support work, or family SEND experience
• A patient, resilient, and compassionate approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to remain calm and consistent when supporting challenging behaviour
• A genuine desire to support young people and help them develop their independence
• A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist SEND environment
