Religious Studies Teacher – Secondary School - Greenwich, South East London

Teaching personnel are looking for a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and committed Teacher of Religious Studies to teach across all age ranges and abilities. The school is an inclusive mixed secondary school in Greenwich, South East London. The school has been graded “Good” in its last Ofsted inspections.

Religious Studies is well respected in the school and a popular subject amongst students. GCSE Full Course is taught to all students from Year 9 through to Year 11. RS, Philosophy and Ethics is taught at A Level and the candidate will have the option of teaching RS at all 3 key stages.

The Religious Studies Department seeks to promote an enquiring approach to the study of ultimate questions and religious practice that is designed not only to challenge students' assumptions but also to facilitate opportunities to reflect on complex issues both creatively and analytically.

The successful applicant will have the academic, teaching, and administrative capabilities expected of staff at this prestigious and progressive school.

As a successful candidate working for Teaching Personnel, you will need the following skills and attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be a Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT)/Early Career Teacher (ECT) with a relevant religious study qualification.
  • Be capable of delivering Key Stage 3 & 4-Experience of teaching Key Stage 5 is beneficial but not essential
  • The experience to plan, prepare and teach the constantly evolving curriculum
  • Excellent classroom management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Great time management skills, someone who is reliable and flexible
  • Ideally worked with children in the last 5 years
  • Right to work in the UK.
