RE Teacher – County Durham Secondary School Long-term supply, MPS/UPS (£32,000 – £45,350 per annum), September 2026 start.

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an RE Teacher for a secondary school in County Durham, with a start date of September 2026. This is a long-term supply position covering Religious Education, with the potential for additional teaching across broader Humanities subjects such as History, Geography, or PSHE depending on your background and the needs of the department.

The school is looking for someone who can slot into an established Humanities department, deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across KS3 and KS4, and maintain the high standards the department is known for.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning and delivering RE lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Contributing to Humanities teaching where your subject knowledge allows
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress in line with school policy
  • Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and classroom management
  • Participating in departmental planning and whole-school events as required
  • Upholding the school's commitment to safeguarding and student welfare

You'll need:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • A degree in RE, Theology, or a related Humanities discipline
  • Experience teaching RE at secondary level
  • Confidence teaching across wider Humanities subjects is advantageous
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
