Position: Teacher of Religious Studies & Geography (Full-Time)

Location: Hemel Hempstead & surrounding areas

Start Date: September 2026 Salary: £140 – £230 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, temporary to permanent opportunities

The Role & Responsibilities

  • Dual-Discipline Teaching: Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in both Geography and Religious Studies across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE).

  • Curriculum Planning: Design creative lesson plans that prompt critical thinking, map-reading skills, and open-minded discussions on global faiths and ethics.

  • Student Progress: Assess, track, and support the academic growth of students, creating an inclusive classroom environment where every voice is heard.

  • School Community: Participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings, and contribute to the vibrant extra-curricular life of the school.

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: QTS, QTLS, or a recognized formal teaching qualification. A degree in Geography, Religious Studies, theology, or a related Humanities subject is highly desirable.

  • Versatility: The ability to seamlessly transition between teaching physical/human geography and philosophical/ethical concepts.

  • Classroom Management: Strong behavior management skills and the ability to inspire students of all abilities.

  • Compliance: A valid enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one through Teaching Personnel).
