Religious Education Teacher – Secondary School
Yeovil, Somerset
Full-time | Permanent (or contract options available)
Competitive salary (MPS/UPS – dependent on experience)

I am currently supporting a well-established secondary school in Yeovil that is seeking to appoint an engaging and knowledgeable Religious Education Teacher to join their dedicated team.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about encouraging thoughtful discussion and broadening students’ understanding of different beliefs and cultures.

The Role:

  • Teach stimulating and thought-provoking Religious Education lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 advantageous but not essential)
  • Plan and deliver lessons that explore a range of religious, ethical, and philosophical topics
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs
  • Create a respectful and inclusive classroom environment that encourages debate and reflection
  • Contribute to the wider school ethos and enrichment opportunities

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold QTS (or be working towards it)
  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for Religious Education
  • Be confident in facilitating discussions on a range of viewpoints and beliefs
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Be committed, adaptable, and a positive team player
