Job description

Teacher of Religious Education

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and committed Teacher of Religious Education to join our successful Humanities faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspiring teacher to deliver high-quality RE lessons that encourage students to think critically, explore different beliefs and worldviews, and develop respect for others.

Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), we welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about making Religious Education engaging, relevant and accessible for all learners.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who can deliver engaging and challenging Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will inspire students to develop enquiring minds, critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of different religions, beliefs and ethical issues. You will plan and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the needs of all learners, assess and monitor student progress to ensure excellent outcomes, and contribute positively to the wider life of both the Humanities department and the school community. Above all, you will actively promote our school's values of respect, inclusion and ambition in everything you do.

We are looking for a teacher who holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or is due to achieve it, and has strong subject knowledge together with a genuine passion for Religious Education. You will have high expectations of both achievement and behaviour, be committed to delivering excellent teaching and learning, and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team. You will also be reflective, motivated and committed to your own professional development, with a desire to continually develop your practice and make a positive difference to the lives of young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
