Reception Teacher – Cardiff (CF3)
£172 per day | Full Time | After Easter | Through Teaching Personnel

A welcoming primary school in Cardiff (CF3) is looking for a Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team after the Easter holidays. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys the creativity and energy of Early Years, where learning through play, exploration and curiosity is at the heart of the classroom.

The school has a supportive leadership team and a strong Early Years provision, creating an environment where both staff and pupils are encouraged to thrive.

The Role

You will be responsible for leading a Reception class, delivering engaging activities that support children as they begin their school journey. The role focuses on developing pupils’ confidence, communication skills and early literacy and numeracy through structured learning and play-based experiences.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering creative Early Years lessons and activities

  • Supporting children’s social, emotional and academic development

  • Creating a warm, structured and engaging classroom environment

  • Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider EYFS team

  • Observing and monitoring pupils’ progress in line with Early Years Framework expectations

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Has experience or a strong interest in Early Years / Reception

  • Is creative, patient and enthusiastic

  • Can build strong relationships with young learners and families

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
