Reception Class Teacher – Tooting 

Location: Tooting, South West London
Start Date: January 2026 (until July 2026_
Contract: Full-Time | Fixed Term / Long-Term

A warm and welcoming primary school in Tooting is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join their Early Years team from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate EYFS practitioner who is committed to providing children with an engaging, nurturing start to their school life.

About the Role

• Full-time teaching responsibility for a Reception class
• Planning, delivering and assessing in line with the EYFS framework
• Creating a stimulating, play-based learning environment
• Working closely with the EYFS Lead, phase team and leadership
• Building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Supporting early phonics, early maths, communication and social development
• You will be supported by two Teaching Assistants in the classroom, providing strong adult-to-child ratios and ensuring high-quality support for learning and routines
• Ensuring a warm, inclusive and well-structured classroom atmosphere

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in Early Years, ideally in Reception
• Strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early child development
• A child-centred, creative and proactive approach to teaching
• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills
• A teacher committed to fostering independence, curiosity and confidence
