Reception / Year 1 Class Teacher – Full Time
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Minimum 4 weeks, likely until October Half Term
Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Reception / Year 1 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school from September 2026.
This is a full-time teaching role covering a mixed Reception and Year 1 class for a minimum of four weeks, with the strong possibility of continuing through to October half term.
The Class:
You will be teaching a lovely mixed-age class of 28 pupils, consisting of:
- 19 Reception pupils
- 9 Year 1 pupils
You will be supported by a highly experienced full-time Teaching Assistant, who knows the class well and will be on hand to provide valuable support throughout the school day. The TA also works as an LSA and covers PPA within the classroom, alongside another Teaching Assistant who works within the school.
The Reception baseline assessments will need to be completed as part of the role. However, support is available, and the experienced TA can assist with administering these assessments if you are not yet familiar or fully confident with the process.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Have experience teaching within EYFS and/or KS1
- Be confident delivering engaging lessons to a mixed Reception and Year 1 class
- Have a good understanding of the EYFS Framework and KS1 curriculum
- Be adaptable and able to meet the needs of pupils across two year groups
- Work effectively as part of a supportive classroom and wider school team
- Be committed to creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
