About the role:
We are working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Walsall who are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified PE Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic practitioner who is committed to inspiring students and promoting a love of sport, health and physical activity.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will be joining a supportive department with a strong focus on student engagement, achievement and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Promote a positive attitude towards sport, fitness and healthy lifestyles
- Teach a range of physical activities in line with the national curriculum
- Assess, track and report on student progress effectively
- Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
- Support extra-curricular sport and enrichment activities
- Encourage teamwork, discipline and resilience in all students
- Manage classroom and practical lesson behaviour effectively
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the PE department and wider school
- Contribute to school sports events, fixtures and clubs
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
- Experience teaching PE in UK secondary schools
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports and physical activities
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Compliance
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to work in the UK
- Satisfactory references covering relevant experience
- Full safeguarding checks completed prior to placement

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
