Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Caerphilly, Wales
Contract: Full-Time Cover (January 2026 – July 2026)
Salary: £172.98 per day – Pay to scale
Start Date: 19th of January 2026

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Caerphilly area. The English Department is a well-established, supportive team that values creativity, collaboration, and high standards of teaching and learning.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to provide full-time cover from January through to July 2026.

You will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop strong literacy skills, confidence in analysis, and a genuine appreciation for language and literature.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress effectively

  • Create and adapt schemes of work and teaching resources

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice

  • Support extracurricular activities, including clubs, trips, or school productions where possible

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • A relevant degree in English or a related subject

  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential)

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing

  • Enthusiasm for inspiring and motivating young learners
