Psychology Teacher (Further Education)

Location: Lancashire
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2026

The Role

We are seeking a committed and experienced Psychology Teacher to join our Further Education provision in Lancashire from September 2026. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning, supporting students to achieve positive outcomes and progress to their next steps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Psychology lessons within an FE setting
  • Teach across relevant Psychology qualifications (e.g. Level 3 / A Level or equivalent)
  • Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Monitor and track learner progress, implementing support strategies where required
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate student records in line with college policies and awarding body requirements
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to learners
  • Participate in team meetings, CPD and quality assurance activities
  • Uphold safeguarding, equality and diversity standards

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in Psychology or a related subject
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching Psychology within a Further Education or similar setting
  • Strong subject knowledge and a learner-centred approach
  • Effective communication and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to inclusive practice and student achievement

Desirable

  • Experience teaching A Level Psychology
  • Experience working with diverse learner groups
  • Knowledge of FE quality processes and awarding body standards

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
