Specialist Schools across Guildford
Full-time | Term-time only
Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

Are you a Psychology graduate passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? Do you want to gain hands-on experience in mental health, education, and child development? We are a specialist education recruitment agency seeking dedicated and empathetic individuals to work as Mental Health Support Teaching Assistants in specialist schools across Guildford.

About the Role
As a Mental Health Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional learning difficulties such as autism and ADHD. You will play a vital role in helping students regulate their emotions, engage in learning, and build positive relationships.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students

  • Assisting in the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans

  • Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour strategies

  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

About You
We are looking for candidates who:

  • Hold a degree in Psychology or a related field

  • Have a genuine interest in mental health and child development

  • Are patient, resilient, and empathetic

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Are considering a career in educational psychology, clinical psychology, counselling, or teaching

Previous experience working with children or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
