Job description

Primary Tutor – Withington (M20)
Looking for a more flexible way to keep doing what you love? We’re working with children in the Withington area who aren’t currently in mainstream school and need one-to-one support to stay on track with their learning.

These sessions are delivered in local libraries or the pupil’s home and are focused around core primary subjects like English and Maths. Many of the pupils are working below age-related expectations and may have additional needs, gaps in learning, or low confidence. Your role is to provide calm, consistent support, helping them make progress at their own pace.

This is ideal for a qualified teacher or experienced tutor who wants to step away from the pressures of the classroom but still make a genuine impact. You’ll be working with one pupil at a time, allowing you to personalise your teaching and see real, meaningful progress.

We offer flexible hours between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday, and pay ranges from £25 to £30 per hour depending on experience. You’ll also receive ongoing support from our team and weekly PAYE pay.

If you're based near Withington and are ready to take your teaching in a more flexible, rewarding direction, we’d love to hear from you. Just send over your CV and we’ll be in touch.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
