Job description

Primary School Supply Teacher

Location: Chester‑le‑Street and surrounding areas
Start: Summer Term or September
Hours: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available
Minimum availability: 2 days per week

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Primary Supply Teachers to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in and around Chester‑le‑Street, with opportunities available for the Summer Term as well as a September start. This role is ideal for enthusiastic and adaptable teachers seeking flexible work across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Full-time supply work is available for teachers who are flexible with year groups and school settings, while part-time availability is also welcomed.

Access to your own vehicle is desirable, as you may be required to travel to a variety of schools within the local area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
  • Adapt quickly to different school environments and follow school policies
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom
  • Deliver pre-planned lessons or confidently adapt where required
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school expectations
  • Provide clear feedback to schools at the end of each placement

Key Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in UK primary schools (EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2)
  • Confidence and flexibility across different year groups
  • Availability for a minimum of 2 days per week
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A professional, proactive and positive attitude
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Access to your own vehicle (desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
