Job Overview
We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 (KS1) Primary Teacher to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Congleton from September 2026. This full-time role will initially run until the February half-term, with a strong possibility of extension through to the end of the academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to make a positive impact within a nurturing school environment, supporting pupils at a key stage in their learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 National Curriculum
- Create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing feedback to pupils and parents
- Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and higher ability pupils
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and fellow staff members
- Maintain effective behaviour management in line with school policies
- Contribute to school activities, staff meetings, and wider school life
- Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all pupils is prioritised at all times
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK
- Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1
- Strong understanding of the UK Primary Curriculum
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience teaching Year 1 or Year 2
- Experience delivering phonics programmes (e.g. Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds)
- Knowledge of assessment frameworks within KS1

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
