Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Yeovil to recruit an experienced Primary Teacher for a full-time position starting in September 2026.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

You will play a vital role in creating an engaging, nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, develop independence and achieve their individual goals.

We are looking for someone with relevant experience who can hit the ground running, quickly establish positive relationships and make an immediate impact within a well-established team.

 

The Role

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across the primary curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of Special Educational Needs.
  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Plan and deliver personalised learning that supports individual EHCP outcomes.
  • Assess, monitor and celebrate pupil progress.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, senior leaders and families to provide the best possible support.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and emotional regulation.
  • Encourage pupils to develop communication, social skills, resilience and independence.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and participate in planning meetings, reviews and professional development.

 

About You

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification).
  • Previous experience teaching within a primary setting, with SEN experience highly desirable.
  • A strong understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice.
  • Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • The confidence to take ownership of the classroom from the outset and make a positive difference from day one.
