Job description

Science Teacher – Full-Time Cover Role

Location: Dorchester
Contract: 5 days per week
Start Date: After Easter
Duration: Until the end of the academic year (with potential to continue in September)
Pay: Paid to scale

Teaching Personnel are delighted to be working with a welcoming middle school in Dorchester to recruit a dedicated and adaptable Science Teacher for a full-time position starting after Easter.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term role through to the end of the academic year — with the exciting possibility of continuing into September.


The Role

This is a varied and engaging position across the school week:

Afternoons: Primarily Science cover (work fully provided)
One afternoon Art lesson (also fully planned and resourced)
Mornings: A mix of general supply cover across the school

With planning provided, this role is perfect for a confident classroom practitioner who enjoys delivering engaging lessons without the added pressure of full planning responsibilities.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent teaching qualification)
  • Confident delivering Science lessons
  • Adaptable and comfortable with general supply in the mornings
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Positive, flexible and reliable
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred (or willing to apply through Teaching Personnel)
