Key Stage 1 Teacher (Year 2) – Part Time (3 Days per Week)
Location: Southampton
Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working with one of our partner schools in Southampton to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teacher for a part-time role in a Year 2 class.
This opportunity is ideal for a passionate teacher seeking a better work-life balance while continuing to deliver high-quality teaching within a supportive and welcoming school environment. The role is for three days per week and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact during a crucial stage in pupils’ learning.
The Role:
You will take responsibility for teaching a Year 2 class, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will ensure continuity in planning, assessment, and classroom practice, helping pupils to build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Planning and delivering creative and effective lessons tailored to Year 2 pupils

Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

Assessing progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs

Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment

Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider staff team
The Ideal Candidate Will:
-
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
-
Have recent experience within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2
-
Be confident in delivering phonics, literacy, and numeracy
-
Demonstrate strong classroom management skills
-
Be committed, reliable, and passionate about education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
