Primary Teacher

Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school in the Llanishen area of Cardiff who are looking for a confident and engaging Year 4 Teacher to join their team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working with Key Stage 2 pupils and wants to take responsibility for a class, delivering engaging lessons while supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development.

‍ The Role

As the Year 4 Teacher, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day teaching and learning of your class. You will be expected to plan and deliver well-structured lessons that follow the Curriculum for Wales, while adapting your approach to meet the different abilities and needs within the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the Year 4 curriculum
• Creating a positive classroom environment where pupils feel confident to participate
• Differentiating activities to support pupils working at different levels
• Developing pupils' literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum skills
• Using a range of teaching strategies to maintain engagement
• Managing classroom behaviour consistently and effectively
• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress
• Identifying areas where pupils require additional support or challenge
• Working closely with teaching assistants and other support staff
• Maintaining clear communication with colleagues and contributing to the wider school team
• Supporting pupils' social and emotional development alongside their academic progress

What We're Looking For

The school would particularly suit a teacher who is confident managing a Key Stage 2 classroom and can create a structured but enjoyable learning environment.

You will ideally have:

• QTS and relevant primary teaching experience
• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
• Excellent classroom management skills
• The ability to differentiate effectively
• Strong organisation and planning skills
• A positive and adaptable approach
• The confidence to work independently while being part of a wider team
• Excellent communication skills
• A genuine interest in helping pupils achieve their potential

The school is open to hearing from both experienced teachers and teachers who are earlier in their careers, provided you can demonstrate strong classroom practice and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
