Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £172.98 per day

The Role

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will play a vital role in preparing pupils for the transition from primary to secondary education. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that help pupils build confidence, develop independence, and achieve their full potential. Working alongside teaching assistants and the wider school team, you will create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel motivated to learn and succeed. You will help pupils develop academically, socially, and emotionally while ensuring they are well-prepared for the next stage of their educational journey.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high standards of learning and behaviour.
  • Prepare pupils for their transition into secondary education.
  • Differentiate learning activities to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, using assessment outcomes to inform planning and support.
  • Provide targeted interventions to support pupils in reaching their learning goals.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, parents, and school staff to support pupil achievement.
  • Encourage independence, resilience, and confidence in all learners.
  • Participate fully in wider school life and contribute positively to the school community.

About You

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 2.
  • Is confident teaching Year 6 pupils and supporting them through a key stage transition year.
  • Can deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that inspire learners.
  • Has strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.
  • Is committed to raising attainment and supporting pupil wellbeing.
  • Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with staff, pupils, and parents.
  • Is available to commit to a full-time, long-term position.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to apply.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
