Primary Teacher (Behaviour Specialist) - Swansea
Job description
Primary Teacher (Behaviour Specialist) – Swansea
Step into a school where the energy hits you the moment you walk through the door. Classrooms are full, the pace is fast, and the personalities are larger than life . This is a role for someone who doesn’t just cope with challenging behaviour — they excel in it. Often challenging behaviour is a form of communication for children who struggle to communicate how they are feeling and what they need from you. We are looking for someone who can command a room, steady the atmosphere, and bring structure to even the busiest of school days.
If you’re confident, composed, and ready to take on lively classes with big characters, this Swansea Primary School is ready for you.
Pay: Starting from £172.98 (M2)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Term Time Only, Part time & Full Time from 8:30am to 3:30pm
Location: Swansea
What Your Days Will Look Like
You’ll be teaching in classrooms that are vibrant, busy, and full of movement. Your presence will matter — pupils will look to you for boundaries, consistency, and calm leadership. You’ll be the person who can turn a chaotic moment into a constructive one, and who understands that behaviour is communication, not confrontation.
Your daily rhythm will include:
- Leading large and small, high‑energy classes with confidence and clarity
- Delivering engaging lessons that hold attention and cut through distractions, in line with the curriculum.
- Using strong behaviour strategies, de‑escalation techniques, and restorative approaches. You could come across emotional and physical meltdowns..
- Working closely with support staff to maintain consistency across the school
- Supporting pupils with big personalities who need firm guidance and steady reassurance
- Celebrating progress — especially the small, hard‑won steps forward
What you’ll bring:
You will need presence. The kind that fills a room without raising your voice. The kind that pupils respect instantly. A Teacher with a calm, friendly, humorous personality that can get down to their level whilst also setting clear boundaries. A person they trust so they can be the best versions of themselves.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Enhanced Child Only DBS registered on the update service ( or willingness to get one)
- Education workforce Council registration (EWC)
- Ability to travel up to 30 minutes
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in busy schools or behaviour‑heavy environments
- Confidence handling challenging behaviour and large groups
- A strong, grounded personality that pupils respond to
- Resilience, humour, and the ability to reset quickly after tough moments
- A belief that every child — even the most challenging — deserves patience and consistency
What You’ll Get in Return
This is a role where your strength and skill genuinely matter. You’ll be joining a school that values teachers who can handle pressure, stay steady, and bring out the best in pupils who don’t always make it easy. We help upskill all of our educators, with different courses available that schools specifically look for.
Free CPD Courses:
- Safeguarding
- Behaviour Management
- ALN/SEN training
- Thrive
You will also receive the opportunity to complete a Team Teach Level 2 Course at a highly discounted rate (subject to availability).
You’ll receive:
- Weekly PAYE Pay (no umbrella charges)
- A daily rate of £172.98 (M2 Scale)
- Support from a team of consultant who understand the realities of challenging behaviour
- Opportunities in multiple schools in Swansea and surrounding areas
- Pension Scheme & Wellbeing Support
