Location: Near Macclesfield, Cheshire
Start Date: After May Half-Term (June 2026)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (until Christmas 2026)
Salary: MPS (dependent on experience)


About the Role

A welcoming and well-regarded primary school near Macclesfield is seeking a committed and passionate KS1 Teacher to join their team following the May half-term, continuing through to the Christmas break. This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of a Key Stage 1 class, providing stability and high-quality teaching during a crucial period of the academic year.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering an engaging, creative, and inclusive curriculum that supports pupils’ academic progress and personal development. You will be expected to create a nurturing classroom environment where children feel motivated, supported, and challenged to achieve their full potential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1
  • Assess, record, and report on pupil progress, ensuring all learners are supported and challenged appropriately
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes high expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage pupils and support a range of learning needs, including SEND and EAL
  • Take responsibility for marking and feedback in line with school policies
  • Maintain accurate records of pupils’ progress and attainment
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and carers to support learning and development
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and colleagues across the school
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and wider school activities
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all pupils

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Proven experience teaching within Key Stage 1
  • Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, including phonics (e.g., Read Write Inc, Letters and Sounds, or similar)
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload effectively
  • A reflective practitioner with a commitment to continuous professional development
  • A positive, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience preparing pupils for KS1 SATs (where applicable)
  • Knowledge of effective assessment strategies and data tracking
  • Experience working within a collaborative school environment
  • Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities or wider school life

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
