Teaching Personnel are working with a Special school in Central Manchester to find an enthusiastic qualified Teacher eager to gain experience working with children with complex learning disabilities. This role has the chance of being a temp to permanent contract for the right candidate. The school has children aged 4 to 11 and provides a variety of different facilities and supporting equipment. Within this role you would be working aside experienced support staff and teachers to deliver high quality and individualised education to pupils with a variety of complex needs like autism, ADHD and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons across various subjects within the school’s curriculum
- Create an inclusive environment where students feel valued, respected and motivated to learn
- Manage challenging behaviour following school’s policies
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans and interventions
- Collaborate with SENCO’s, teaching assistant and parents to provide holistic and individualised support for each student
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and behaviour
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience in teaching young people with SEND needs and adapting learning materials for each child
- Strong understanding of special needs and confidently teach cross multiple subjects and life long skills
- Have knowledge and experience working with challenging behaviours
- Knowledge of SEMD strategies, interventions and suitable practises
- Ability to work with and lead a team of teaching assistants

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
