SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Warrington Area)

A friendly primary school in the Warrington area is searching for a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, sensory processing difficulties, communication needs, physical disabilities, and SEMH.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days look the same, but you will be:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups to help them access learning.
  • Adapting activities, visuals, and resources to suit individual needs.
  • Helping pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists.
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and celebrating progress—big or small!
  • Creating a calm, supportive environment where children feel safe and valued.
  • Providing personal care when required.

✔️ What We’re Looking For

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

  • Experience working with children (school, nursery, sports coaching or care settings welcome!).
  • Background supporting SEN and/or SEMH (ASD, ADHD, behavioural needs, communication delays).
  • A child-only Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A calm, nurturing approach and the resilience to support children with varied needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
