SEN Resource Base Teacher – Mainstream Primary School (Edgbaston)

Are you an experienced and passionate teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?

Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the Edgbaston area for an experienced SEN Resource Base Teacher to join their dedicated team. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible on a temporary basis, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff for the right candidate.

The successful candidate will lead a specialist resource base class, supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs. The class benefits from reduced pupil numbers and a high level of Teaching Assistant support, allowing staff to deliver tailored, high-quality provision that meets each child's individual needs.

This role would suit an experienced primary teacher with a strong background in SEND. Experience working within a specialist SEN school or teaching in a resource base within a mainstream setting is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a UK-recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or BA with QTS).
  • Have substantial recent experience teaching children with Special Educational Needs.
  • Ideally have previous experience working in an SEN school or a specialist resource base within a mainstream primary school.
  • Be confident in planning and delivering personalised learning to meet a range of complex learning needs.
  • Work effectively alongside Teaching Assistants and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and a nurturing, patient approach.
  • Be committed to creating an inclusive, engaging and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
