Primary School Teachers – KS1 and KS2

Location: Chester, Cheshire
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary – until December
Working Pattern: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Overview

A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Chester is seeking two enthusiastic Primary School Teachers to join their team on a temporary basis until December. One role will be based in Key Stage 1, and the other in Key Stage 2.

These positions are ideal for teachers who are passionate about delivering high‑quality teaching and making a positive impact during the autumn term.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Create a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND
  • Maintain effective classroom management and high behavioural expectations
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and senior leaders
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required
  • Uphold safeguarding and child protection policies at all times

Role‑Specific Requirements

KS1 Teacher

  • Experience or strong knowledge of Early Years and KS1 curriculum
  • Ability to support early literacy and numeracy development
  • Nurturing approach to support younger learners’ social and emotional needs

KS2 Teacher

  • Experience or strong knowledge of Upper or Lower KS2 curriculum
  • Confidence in delivering core subjects, including SATs‑related content where applicable
  • Ability to promote independence and prepare pupils for transition stages

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in a UK primary school (placements considered)
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Flexible, reliable, and able to hit the ground running
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
