Primary School Support Staff – Flexible Opportunities | Carmarthen
£14.30 per hour
Are you looking for rewarding, flexible work in primary schools across Carmarthen? We are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to support pupils and teachers in a variety of school settings.

The Role – What Your Day Could Look Like
Every day can be different, but a typical day may include:
Morning:
- Arriving at school and being welcomed by staff
- Briefing with the class teacher on the day’s plan
- Supporting pupils as they settle into the classroom
- Assisting with morning activities such as reading, phonics, or basic numeracy
Midday:
- Working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis to support learning
- Helping children stay engaged, focused, and on task
- Adapting activities to suit different learning needs
- Supporting pupils with additional needs where required
Break & Lunch:
- Supervising pupils during break times
- Encouraging positive behaviour and safe play
- Building rapport and acting as a positive role model
Afternoon:
- Supporting creative lessons, sports, or practical activities
- Assisting the teacher with classroom organisation
- Helping manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
- Providing feedback to the teacher on pupil progress

- Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) roles
- Childcare or nursery settings
- Sports coaching or physical education
- Psychology or education-based studies
- Health and Social Care
- Support work or care environments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
