Full-Time Primary School Receptionist
Location: Salisbury
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm
Start: September 2026
Pay: To be discussed with the school
A welcoming primary school in Salisbury is looking for a friendly, confident and organised Receptionist to join their team on a full-time basis.
The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, staff and visitors, so a professional and approachable manner, alongside excellent communication and telephone skills, is essential.
The Role:
- Working school hours of 8:30am–3:30pm
- Days and hours can be flexible for the right candidate, but you must be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays as a minimum
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with general enquiries
- Welcoming visitors, parents and pupils to the school
- Supporting with general school administration
- Using Microsoft Office confidently
- Updating and maintaining school records and systems
- Working closely with staff to ensure the smooth running of the school office
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a school office or administration role is desirable
- Bromcom experience would be an advantage, although full training can be provided
- Confident using Microsoft Office
- Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
- Organised, reliable and able to work in a busy school environment
- Friendly, approachable and professional
- Able to work effectively as part of a team
Safeguarding & Vetting:
As this role involves working within a primary school, the successful candidate will be required to have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one) and complete safeguarding and Prevent training prior to commencing the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
