Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary
Location: Sheffield S10
Employer: Teaching Personnel
Salary: £90–£110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP / September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (flexible options available)
Contract Duration: Temporary with potential for long-term or permanent placement

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and vibrant primary school in the S10 area of Sheffield. This role is ideal for confident support staff who can lead learning, deliver planned lessons, and contribute to raising standards across the curriculum.


Role Overview:

As an HLTA, you will:

  • Support class teachers across KS1 and KS2
  • Deliver lessons to small groups or full classes in the teacher’s absence
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment
  • Provide targeted intervention for pupils who need additional support
  • Promote positive behaviour and learning attitudes

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • HLTA status or relevant Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working in UK primary schools (EYFS, KS1 or KS2)
  • Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons independently
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
