£168 - 200 per day

Job description

Teaching Personnel are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Primary Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to join our network of partner schools across Cheshire for September 2026. As a senior recruitment consultant working closely with primary schools across the region, I am supporting a high volume of demand for flexible supply staff, and this is an excellent opportunity for ECTs looking to gain valuable classroom experience at the start of their teaching career.

We are working with a wide range of primary schools across Chester, Warrington, Crewe, Ellesmere Port and surrounding areas, offering a variety of day-to-day, short-term and long-term supply roles. These positions provide a strong foundation for ECTs to develop their teaching practice while maintaining flexibility and control over their working pattern.

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum, maintaining positive behaviour management, and quickly adapting to different school environments. You will have the opportunity to work across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, building confidence and broadening your experience across all primary phases.

This is an ideal route for ECTs who are looking to secure their first permanent role, as many of our partner schools use supply placements as a pathway to long-term or permanent opportunities.

The role includes:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively
  • Supporting pupils’ academic progress and wellbeing
  • Adapting to different school settings and expectations
  • Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be completing ECT induction
  • A strong understanding of the primary curriculum
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to teaching
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply

Working through Teaching Personnel offers a number of benefits, including competitive daily rates, flexible work to suit your availability, and access to a wide network of primary schools across Cheshire. You will also receive ongoing support from a dedicated consultant, along with access to CPD and training opportunities designed to support your progression as an ECT.

This is a high-demand area for Primary ECT jobs, and we encourage applications from candidates seeking September teaching positions, supply teaching opportunities, and long-term primary roles across Cheshire.

To apply, please submit your CV or contact Teaching Personnel to discuss current Primary ECT vacancies and supply teaching opportunities in your area.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ this may also include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted applicants.
We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
