Location: Blackbrook St Mary's Primary School, St Helens
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Part-Time (4 Days per Week)
Working Days: Monday, Thursday, Wednesday and Friday
Pay: Competitive daily rates paid weekly via PAYE
Potential: Temporary role with the opportunity to become permanent

PPA Teacher Required for September 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Primary Teacher to join the dedicated team at a Catholic Primary School in St Helens from September 2026.

We are seeking an experienced Class Teacher to provide high-quality PPA cover across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, working with pupils from Year 1 through to Year 6. The role will also include delivering targeted intervention sessions to support pupils' academic progress and help ensure every child achieves their full potential.

This position would suit a confident and versatile teacher who enjoys teaching across a range of year groups and can quickly establish positive relationships with pupils and staff alike.

The Role

As the successful PPA Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons across Years 1 to 6.
  • Provide PPA cover on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
  • Plan and deliver targeted intervention programmes to support pupil attainment and progress.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff and senior leaders.
  • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback where required.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour management.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Recent experience teaching within a UK primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • The ability to adapt teaching styles to meet the needs of different age groups and abilities.
  • A proactive, flexible and positive approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
