We have been approached by a ‘Good’ primary school in the centre of Burnley, looking to appoint a part-time PPA teacher to work across Key Stage 1 and 2. As a PPA teacher, the successful candidate will be supported by an experienced Teaching Assistant and work from a detailed plan to deliver lessons across the foundation subjects including maths, English, including Art, Geography, History, PE and R.E. The school is relatively flexible regarding working hours and are willing to discuss this after the shortlisting process. The school are ideally looking for someone to work 3 days a week, but would however, considering offering the role on a full-time basis should this be a requirement of the right candidate.
The school are keen to consider both experienced candidates and NQT’s, but as stressed by the Head Teacher, a broad knowledge of the curriculum is essential- as is a positive working attitude and ability to establish strong working relationships. Although the behaviour at this school is considered to be generally good, it is of paramount importance to the senior leadership team that the employed practitioner is confident and capable of implementing effective behaviour management strategies and capable of working in line with their well supported policies.
